Regardless of the version, the watch is a sight to behold.

The brand Purnell is known for its exquisite tourbillons, which are literally a part of its DNA, and one of the newest iterations of the Escape II is in my opinion, the coolest one to date.

Originally released last year, the Escape II was equipped with two triple-axis Spherion tourbillon systems developed by the master of behind-the-scenes watchmaking Eric Coudray.

Purnell claims that the latest iterations are the fastest triple-axis tourbillon watches in the world and highlight these features in bold color schemes that stand out against the 48 mm case profile and are positioned in a distinct aperture along its lower third. When you are not looking at the artwork directly, this negative space makes the intricacies of the artwork that much more apparent.

There is no doubt that the cases make a distinctive aesthetic impression, as they are substantial enough to provide adequate support and contain the internal mechanics of the watch. One iteration of the Escape II Carbon, which is available in neon green, mustard yellow or crimson detailing, is, as you might expect, made from carbon, as well. Due to its downturned lugs, it effortlessly fits the wrist and weighs a feather-like 50.35 grams.

As opposed to the Escape II All Black, this watch is 35 percent lighter. It is made of polished DLC titanium and is surrounded by equally inky Spherion cages, giving it a uniform appearance accompanied only by small red markings on the hands and the power reserve indicator to break up the monotony. The sapphire crystal of this watch has been specially shaped in order to give maximum visibility to the six mainsprings assembled in four barrels, as well as the conical power reserve system, just like the sapphire crystal of its colorful cousin.

It is 35 percent lighter than the Escape II All Black, so it makes a significant difference in weight. This watch is constructed of polished DLC titanium and is surrounded by equally inky Spherion cages, giving it a uniform appearance complemented only by the power reserve indicator and small red markings on the hands to break up the monotony of the watch.

This watch's sapphire crystal has been specially shaped to maximize the visibility of the six mainsprings and the conical power reserve system, similar to the sapphire crystal of its colorful cousin, which is arranged in four barrels. Depending on the color of the carbon, a model will set you back $470,000, whereas a model crafted from 100% titanium will set you back $460,000.
