Vicem 67 Cruiser to Debut in September

Cold-molded mahogany is used in the construction of the Vicem 67 Cruiser.
During the September Newport International Boat Show, Vicem Yachts will debut the 67 Cruiser.
There will be an open space for a tender and a davit aft of the flybridge of the Vicem 67 Cruiser, as well as a hardtop on the flybridge. Guests will be able to dine alfresco in the cockpit shaded by the flybridge overhang.

For short-handed cruising and line handling, a lower helm station will be on the starboard side with a door to the side deck. Belowdecks, there will be three staterooms: two with king-size berths and one with a double. Two crew quarters will be located aft.
A pair of 600 hp Volvo Penta diesels will power the 67 Cruiser.
Vicem 67 Cruiser's hull will be constructed out of mahogany and epoxy with a hard-chine planing design. For added strength, mahogany framing and beams will be used for the deck and house-top structure.
Noelle Semmes, sales director for Vicem Yachts USA, said: "Vicem's cold-molded construction combines the best qualities of natural and synthetic materials in a handmade process." In order to reinforce all stress points and encapsulate the inner and outer layers of the hull, Vicem uses high-tech materials, such as e-glass, carbon fiber and epoxy. However, mahogany and epoxy laminates are used in the hulls themselves to improve strength-to-weight ratios, attenuate sound and reduce temperature inside the hulls. Our fuel consumption is better as a result of weight reduction, better seakeeping, and smaller engines."

On the flybridge, tenders can be stowed.
With a power rating of 600 horses, the Volvo Penta D8 diesel engines will be coupled to a conventional shaft drive. A cruise speed of 18 knots and a top hop speed of 22 knots is expected. Options include Volvo Penta D11 engines with 725 horsepower and Volvo Penta D13 engines with 900 horsepower.
