Urban Spas to Visit This Year

Whether it's sleep treatment or metabolism stimulation, this is the golden age of spas.
The metropolitan experience is both wonderful and exhausting, from early morning commutes to late night revels. With a new year just around the corner, there's no better time to explore this year's best urban spas.
Spas are booming, as you probably already know. In this decade, the global spa market is projected to grow at a rate of 17% per year, with intense competition. So we are lucky to have spas that can offer a wide range of treatments, from sleep aids to face contouring, to meet the challenge.
We make health resolutions this time every year, but the city palette of smog, smoke, fog, and fumes is a far cry from what we face this time of year. These are Rich Report's best urban spas across the globe, whether you need a moment of rest or an hour of relaxation after December's excesses.
Dr. Barbara Sturm, New York City

Barbara Sturm, a German aesthetician, has gained considerable traction in the skincare world, and for good reason. In addition to pioneering treatments such as using one's own blood cells to treat various inflammatory conditions, her science-based approach to wellness has attracted a cult following across the globe.
In the newly opened Dr. Barbara Sturm spa in New York City's Soho, this futuristic approach to health is reflected in the spa's aesthetic. Featuring all the Sturm favorites, including the beloved SturmGlow, the Soho spa is brightly lit and gleamingly minimalist.
We're most excited about the new treatment menu, with Dr. Sturm's exoso-metric collection designed to reduce the signs of aging. A lunch break trip to this spa or a pre-event refinery is perfect because treatments usually last about an hour or two.
Claridge’s Spa

One of London's most iconic luxury hotels opened its long-awaited spa in September 2022, to the delight of Londoners and international jet setters alike. Claridge's had to deliver on the luxury hotel experience now that a spa and swimming pool were expected.
The answer was yes, to everyone's surprise. The Claridge’s spa, five floors below ground level and designed by Hong Kong interior architect Andre Fu, fuses the aesthetics of Japanese bathing houses with the subtle application of ancient Far-Eastern wellness, as well as a high-end spa experience in the 21st century.
There is no denying that the Damien Hirst painting is a talking point, and the trickling water feature is absolutely gorgeous. In terms of new classics, the Bamboo & Silk Ritual and the Body Detox & Sculpt are the most exciting. It features the UK's first MLX i3Dome, which stimulates cellular repair and activates metabolism.
The Spa at Wynn Las Vegas

In light of Sin City's famed glitz and gold, this five-star spa is among Las Vegas's most glamorous spaces. The Wynn Las Vegas is no longer about subtlety and minimalism; it's about grandeur and grandiosity.
However, this is also a surprisingly cozy space, with a delightful and warm ambiance that offers retreat and serenity away from the harsh desert sun. The ritual focuses on every part of the body and ends with a 50-minute massage that reflects the five elements of feng shui.
The Spa at Le Bristol, Paris

Considering the glittering Parisian luxury hotel scene, we have long considered Le Bristol one of our favorite hotels in the city. Keeping with the hotel's buoyant elegance, the spa is no exception. With a gorgeous Edwardian fresco and a brilliant view of the city, the hotel's nautical-themed pool is reason enough to visit.
Tata Harper, the global leader in skincare, has created the Sensorial Resets menu this year. In addition to a deep clean and powerful reset, the Dermal Reset machine uses LED therapy and oxygen infusion to remove all impurities from the skin, restoring elasticity, tightening pores, boosting collagen, and even minimizing wrinkles in the process.
The Spa at Four Seasons Hong Kong

Is there such a thing as a city dweller who can confidently claim to get enough sleep? These much-envied figures may exist, but we haven't come across them yet. In its Deep Sleep Retreat, the Spa at Four Seasons Hong Kong has provided a fantastic solution to our fast-paced urban lives and understands just how vital sleep is.
There is also a guided meditation workshop, a 120-minute spa ritual, a massage treatment, and kinesiology therapy included in the program, which includes a two-night stay at the hotel.
We also offer a three-step Reawakening Ritual, a Chinese Wellness Ritual, and even a Contouring Detox Experience specifically designed to counter the effects of frequent travel.
Guerlain Spa at The Woodward

Featuring magnificent designs by acclaimed architect Pierre-Yves Rochon, Geneva's only suite-exclusive hotel was unveiled in 2021 with unrivalled views of the world-famous Mount Blanc. There are numerous amenities at The Woodward, but their Guerlain spa, part of the nationally celebrated Club Woodward, is particularly noteworthy.
Why is that? In terms of its interior, think marble Italian showers and white onyx sinks, along with a color palette of subtle creams and browns that enhance the serenity of the space. Massages and treatments are available, including the Facialist Perfection treatment, which combines Guerlain's expertise with cutting-edge technology.
There is no better place to combine old-style luxury with cutting-edge spa advancements than at The Woodward's Guerlain Spa.
