Underwater Lounge on This Space-Age Superyacht

The office has been designed as an owner’s suite, but it can be converted.

What about the views below the water on a superyacht?

Cantharus is a striking superyacht concept conceived by Darin Osborne that takes advantage of the ocean to provide seafarers with unsurpassed views.

From the bottom up, the yacht designer designed the 226-footer from the ground up. It is arguably the boat’s biggest draw, the subterranean room, which is the first to materialize. It comes with 180-degree glass to immerse seafarers in the world beneath the waves and special lighting that makes sure you won’t miss anything. At the moment, it’s used as an office, but Osborne says it can be turned into an owner’s suite if needed.

“The underwater lounge is a place to be surrounded by water and beauty,” estated Osborne said in a statement. On far-flung journeys, the designer states that it provides “serenity.”

In addition to a sleek hull and extensive glazing, Cantharus is decidedly futuristic above the waterline. In addition to the light-filled main deck, a large banquet/conference table and grand piano are situated on an open-plan dining and entertainment area. On the main deck, you’ll find an outdoor party area with a stage that doubles as a Jacuzzi. You’ll also find a bar, a DJ booth, and a large pop-up television. While the lower deck contains the main cabin and some additional living spaces.

Moreover, Cantharus boasts a spacious upper bridge deck that can be used for sunbathing, as well as a wheelhouse that can be used for sightseeing. In case the giant windows don’t let enough sun shine through, Cantharus also has a skylight installed. Whether you’re above or below the water, Cantharus has everything you need.
