This Yacht Was Designed for High Latitude Cruising

The boat also comes with a full selection of water toys and tenders.

The Australian explorer yacht was designed by Grant Maughan, who spent nearly 40 years sailing various types of ships around the world.

Project EvO has been outfitted for high-latitude expeditions and spans 262 feet (80 meters) from tip to tail. Since Maughan himself has traveled to the Arctic and Antarctic, he knows the exact characteristics required in these extreme conditions.

In addition to the rugged exterior, Maughan designed the vessel using Rhino3D software, which features a pointed bow and an ice-class hull to survive rough waters. Although the exact engines have not been specified, she is designed with a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system. In addition, she will have an azimuth thruster and a tunnel thruster forward, Maughan says, which should allow her to travel transoceanic distances.

A 56-foot beam gives the yacht plenty of room inside and out. It has three decks of living space and spacious windows that allow for a perfect view of the snow-covered tundra. The boat also features a glass house on its third deck and a crow’s nest on its main mast, which both offer prime views.

An expansive water park and beach club are aft of the bow, while a commercial helipad and hangar come with fueling facilities. The bow has a lounge that leads to a pool and sunbeds amidships.

It doesn’t stop there, though, because EvO also boasts a number of garages stocked with toys and tenders that can facilitate further exploration. The vessel also has abundant fuel stores so you won’t run out of fuel.

Maughan seems to have thought of everything.
