The Writer of 'This Is Us' Purchases an Architecturally Striking Home on the Westside

In real life, Connie Britton is a lot more conciliatory and less bossy than the bossy CEO she played in the TV show "The White Lotus," but she is certainly capable of getting what she wants. This is Us" writer/producer David E. Windsor, and his longtime partner, the prolific Hollywood actress Jean Smart ("American Horror Story," "Nashville," "Friday Night Lights," "Spin City," "Dirty John," etc), have recently won a fierce bidding war for their stylish Santa Monica home.
Rich Report reveals that Britton and Windsor own half of the property, which they purchased for roughly $5.6 million, which is $660,000 more than what the seller was asking for. Custom built in 2016, the contemporary home was designed and built by Dub Studios for Larry Fitzgibbon, the founder of the Tastemade video network, for whom the house was commissioned.
There is a two-story residence tucked away on an 8,000 square foot lot in a leafy part of Santa Monica that boasts a variety of bespoke finishes and amenities that will make any homeowner envious.
Located behind a towering hedgerow, the blocky house appears from the street as if it belongs to a foreign country, with a forbidding entryway and a custom-carved hardwood door which makes it seem like a foreign country. This home boasts an open concept main floor that is essentially one large room with designated areas for dining, entertaining, lounging, and even cooking, which offers a number of dedicated nooks.
With a professional chef's dream kitchen that boasts high-end Liebherr and Wolf appliances, as well as an eat-in island and retro breakfast banquette, this home is anything but standard. In addition to the main living space, a large private office is located just off the foyer of the home and has been mentioned as a potential fourth bedroom in the listing.
In addition to the three bedrooms downstairs, you will find two smallish bedrooms upstairs, sharing a small bathroom with one other room. In the upper level of the house you will find a lavish master suite, which can be accessed via a private balcony with jasmine planters filled with gorgeous blossoms, and includes a walk-in closet, steam shower, soaking tub, and a private balcony with a walk-in closet.
Out back, there is a yard that is relatively spacious for a neighborhood that is so densely populated. A properly landscaped lot, although it doesn't have a swimming pool, does have lush grassy lawns, a paved al fresco dining patio made from decomposed granite, drought-tolerant gardens as well as tall hedges to provide privacy.
After growing up on the East Coast, Britton has been working steadily in Hollywood for nearly three decades after being born and raised there. During the course of her career, the 55-year-old has developed a significant real estate portfolio.
Along with her new Santa Monica apartment, the actress also owns a multimillion-dollar Mediterranean villa-style house in Los Feliz, a spacious house in Austin, Texas, and a luxury condo in the Nolita neighborhood of Manhattan, in addition to her new Santa Monica residence.
Windsor, aged 50, recently signed a deal with 20th Television to develop the channel's overall development over the next several years.
