In an effort to cash in on the estate of late Microsoft founder and co-founder Paul Allen, Sol y Sombra, a 20-acre piece of property is being put on the market.

In her final two years, the famed painter Georgia O'Keeffe retreated from the Ghost Ranch where she created her iconic works of art to a Santa Fe Pueblo-style home where she lived until she died in 1986, some two years after she first acquired it.

When Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen announced in 2000 that he was interested in purchasing the 1930's structure for $12.5 million, he purchased it. Now, Rich Report indicates that the storied property is asking $15 million.

At Sol y Sombra, the estate of the late tech mogul still controls the 20-acre plot where the building of the late mogul can be seen, as well as the estate of the late tech mogul's late spouse. On the landscaped property, there are a number of buildings which include a main house with 9,000 square feet, a conference center, an event center, two guest houses, and a lodge.

An additional conference center, an event center, two guest houses, and a lodge are located on the landscaped property. A total of 21 bedrooms and 26 bedrooms can be found inside the various additional structures which make up the entire property in total.

Inside the main house built in adobe that is surrounded by adobe walls, there are wide wood beams across the ceilings, kiva fireplaces of various shapes and sizes, as well as stone, wood, and brick flooring throughout. Besides the formal living and dining rooms that are equipped with fireplaces, the main floor also has a library and a game room as well as a formal living room and formal dining room.

The private red-walled movie theater is accessible by way of a covered walkway, and comes fully equipped with its own kitchen and fireplace, as well as a red-walled foyer. In addition to the rose garden, the Aspen grove, and the lush landscaping surrounding the home, it has multiple patios that provide ample space for you to enjoy the scenery.

Allen, apart from furnishing the house with a magnificent property, has also put in a large greenhouse that houses a variety of cacti as well as a supposed Bodhi tree that was believed to have shaded Buddha by the time he achieved enlightenment and is now home to his diverse collection of cacti. Previous owners of this property received the seeds from the Dalai Lama as a gift.

The historic home has risen to the top of the list of assets the Paul Allen estate is looking to dispose of following his passing in 2018. This particular property was first listed for sale in 2021 for $22.6 million, and its price has been slashed twice since then in order to bring it back down to $21.5 million.
