From short-haul destinations for early T-shirt weather or sure snow to further-flung corners where you can see the changing of the seasons, this is where to go on holiday in spring 2023 based on the Rich Report team.

Los Angeles, USA

There's no better time than April to visit La La Land. The weather is a comfortable 23 degrees, so brunch outside hip Silverlake hangout Sqirl, microbreweries in the Arts District, and rooftop cocktails at Downtown's Perch are all ideal. DTLA's Hoxton spot - with its Instagrammable interiors and rooftop pool - will be where I stay next time I'm there.

Lake Como, Italy

I'll be visiting Lake Como for the first time, and the four-day Easter break seems just right for exploring and relaxing with an Aperol. As I sail the waters, I'm looking forward to stopping off at the beautiful towns that sit just on the water's edge - Bellagio and Verenna are on my list. It will be my pleasure to stay at the chic Villa Lario and dive into their infinity pool as soon as possible.

Hampshire, UK

The accommodation is now my number one priority when it comes to planning a trip now that my one-year-old is on the verge of walking. In the past few months, I've become an expert at finding places on Airbnb, and The Granary in Hampshire is probably my favorite find so far. Featuring an open-plan living area and fully equipped kitchen, the rustic cabin was built in 2021. You'll find the real wow-factor outside, on acres of farmland. Enjoy a sundowner from the wood-fired hot tub, followed by a splash around in the outdoor copper bath while watching roe deer, pheasants, foxes and badgers. You can walk miles of countryside during the day, plus Winchester is only three miles away.

Madrid, Spain

The weather was mild but not overwhelming, crowds were relatively low, and we ate our way through the city's restaurants without making a single reservation. That was the perfect time to visit Madrid, which I booked a last-minute trip to with friends in late March a few years ago. Since traveling to Spain is now so easy, I'm eager to return - this time with a more focused itinerary. My base will be the Hyatt Centric, which is near the museum, Palacio Real, and Casa de Campo Park.

Vienna, Austria

My long weekend in Vienna was blessed with clear, blue skies, strong sunshine, and no tourists. Walk around the city's districts and visit the more than 100 museums and galleries - the city is a real cultural hub. Klimt's largest collection can be found at Belvedere Palace, and Rubens, Titian, Rembrandt and Brueghel's masterpieces can be found at Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, the country's largest gallery. Additionally, the newly opened Albertina Modern has a number of exciting contemporary exhibitions planned - I saw Ai Wei Wei's latest collection, In Search of Humanity, which showcased some of his activism. Try hiking in the Alps, where you can channel your best Julie Andrews in majestic mountain surroundings.

South of France

The South of France is a place I normally visit every year. I've booked a springy, sunny long weekend to return at the end of April after a two-year, pandemic-induced hiatus. One of the things on my list is to book a room at La Maison d'Ulysse, a farmhouse near Uzes, a hidden Provençal town.

Reykjavík and Westfjords, Iceland

Although the best time to visit the Arctic state is said to be between June and August due to the burning midnight sun and warmer weather, going in May helps to keep the cost of visiting the relatively expensive destination down, so it should also not be so cold or so crowded at the Golden Circle or Blue Lagoon, or on the various whale-watching, volcano crater or glacier snowmobile tours from the country's capital.

Kyoto, Japan

There is no doubt that the cherry blossoms in Japan during March and April are the spring event of the year. Kyoto is home to a number of wonderful gardens and palaces that add to the ambiance of this incredible season. There is no better place to start your search for the real Japan than this city.'

Zermatt, Switzerland

'For me, spring is all about skiing, and Zermatt is the best place for a snow-sure ski trip before the end of April. There are many family-friendly runs, as well as extensive off-piste options, in three different ski domains, including Italian Cervinia. This town is unlike most in that it is car-free and full of narrow, wonky streets and horse-drawn sleighs. On and off the slopes, there's even a thriving gourmet restaurant scene: try Chez Vrony for risotto with ceps and white truffle - and a view of the Matterhorn, too.

Munich, Germany

In Munich, Gelato Naturale is the place to go when the weather warms up. There is no doubt that this is the best ice cream in town even though it's tiny. There are no artificial additives in them, and they are made with all-natural ingredients. One of my favorite flavors is salted peanut. It's best to get ice cream that's fresh, and the owner will tell you which flavors have just been made. As for the price, it's fantastic at only €1 for a really large scoop.

Arendal, Norway

There must be a medical term for it, but don't you sometimes wish you could stay in bed and enjoy a few more cosy minutes under the duvet with winter, instead of throwing yourself into the warm, fragrant embrace of spring? During such a time, Northern Europe is the place to be, and one of the simplest waterfront cafes in Arendal, a quiet Norwegian town on the coast, is a good place to be at that time. The promise of spring is nothing more than an idle rumour, as you sit with a woollen blanket on your lap, the sunlight low on the water, a reassuring chill in the air, and a wooly blanket on your lap.

Capri, Italy

On Capri's cliff face, the Beach Club Il Riccio is a charming spot for a lazy lunch overlooking the Mediterranean. It's not always necessary to make a reservation, but it's advisable due to its Michelin Star, as well as the 'desert room' inspired by Willy Wonka. In The Trip, Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon spent their waiting time drinking on the terrace, just like you can do if you arrive early.

Paris, France

The weather was perfect for exploring with blue skies, blossoming flowers and a light breeze in the air. A stroll down the cobbled streets of Montmartre and along the banks of the Seine took us hours from the Marché aux Puces de St-Ouen. We stayed in Le Marais, an area filled with unique shops, bakeries, cocktail bars and quintessential French cafes where I lived my Parisian dream, if only for a weekend.
