Make sure they get what they want.

There's nothing like the familiar refrain, "He's so hard to shop for," when it comes to gift ideas.

Let's keep it simple. At least those who drink, love whiskey.

Choose a fine bottle of whiskey, whether it's a smoky single malt, a small batch bourbon, or a barrel-proof rye, and you'll earn a lot of thanks and approval. One of the best things about whiskey is that it can be shared. We have selected 15 whiskey-loving gifts that we think will make outstanding gifts for the whiskey-loving friend or lover in your life, if none of our other painstakingly selected gifts are enough.

Shibui Pure Malt Japanese Whisky

Japanese single malts are often blended with Japanese and Scotch whiskies, a semi-guarded secret for many years. Shibui, part of a company founded by sisters Lauren and Rachel Simmons, along with Nicolas Pollacchi, has never made a secret of it, as their slogan plainly states, "We don't distill." This has only recently come to light. It is based on the idea that they combine the best of already existing whiskeys in order to achieve the best results possible. Pure Malt, on the other hand, is 100 percent malted barley from the Niigata Region of Japan with a small amount of Scottish Lowlands whiskey aged in ex-bourbon barrels, oloroso sherry casks, and mizunara barrels. A slightly hefty candied walnut, maple, and marzipan countenance is the result.

The Pendleton Round-Up rodeo's official whiskey is this 20-year-old blended Canadian whiskey. This ultra-premium whiskey's distinctive bottle represents the spirit of the American West, with a leather sleeve with a tooled design by Randy Severe, a third-generation Pendleton saddlemaker.

In this whiskey, notes of oak, cinnamon, and orange zest are accentuated by the fact that it has been distilled from the best Northern grains, aged in American oak barrels, and infused with the finest glacier-fed spring water from Oregon's Mt. Hood. In honor of the Pendleton Round-Up's directors and anyone else who enjoys a satisfying drink after a long day on the bike, it is a fitting annual salute.

There are single malts aged as old as sixty years in this celebratory whiskey, many of which are from ghost distilleries that are no longer in existence, and it's encapsulated in a striking blue and gold bottle and box designed by Shan Jiang. The Macallan Harmony Collection Rich Cacao

A new limited edition whiskey dedicated to sustainability has been launched by Macallan. It is the first in a new series of innovative single malts that will see the brand moving towards even more sustainable packaging. A recycled and biodegradable outer box and bottle labels made from organic cacao shells are used in this case, while a virgin wood pulp ribbon is used for the box ribbon.

A Macallan whiskey maker, Polly Logan, traveled to Girona, Spain, to create the whiskey itself, where she worked with renowned pastry chef Jordi Roca of El Celler de Can Roca, visiting Casa Cacao and working with Damian Allsop. Logan crafted a whiskey reminiscent of chocolate fondant, honey and oak by combining European sherry and American oak casks.
