Swan-Shaped Megayacht Concept With Detachable Dayboat Head

With a wingspan of 450 feet, the gargantuan waterbird dominates the water.

450 feet long, this swan-shaped megayacht has even a separate boat that can be used as a detachable head.

Its name is Avanguardia, which means “vanguard” in English. It’s fitting because this megayacht represents the cutting edge of marine design. Pierpaolo Lazzarini of Lazzarini Design Studio conceptualized the concept. As well as flying cars and bullet-shaped hyperyachts, the Rome-based outfit has crafted several disrupting designs, but this waterbird may be the biggest.

There are five separate decks on Avanguardia and she can fit up to 60 seafarers. The gargantuan vessel is adorned with flowing lines and subtle curves that give her the elegant silhouette of a real-life swan. A control tower acts as the brain to maneuver the vessel, just like the animal’s head. However, it can also serve as a separate 50-foot cruiser that can cruise during the day.

Its flexible neck uses a fulcrum to provide a full range of movement to the control center. As the megayacht swans about, it drops to the middle to steer it. On the other hand, when the vessel is at anchor, the neck lowers the head to the water where it can be detached and cruise independently.

There is also a helicopter on top of the vessel, a pair of Lazzarini’s jet capsules located aft, and a haul of supercars amidships. The jet capsules can also be added to the rear for increased propulsion.

In terms of propulsion, the swan could cruise at 18 knots with twin electric side engines and a central MTU Rolls-Royce engine.

Lido deck and swan? We’d love to see that story come to life. Avanguardia is only a concept at this point, but if a client can invest, it could become a reality.
