Pharrell Williams and Jeweler Lorraine Schwartz Collaborate to Curate Auction Featuring 50-Carat Diamond

The sale, which is taking place on Joopiter, the new platform that the creative has just launched, is the first designed exclusively to showcase jewelry for the multi-hyphenate.
There has been a lot of activity going on with Pharrell Williams lately...very busy. There have been a number of things that the 13-time Grammy Award-winning artist has been doing in the last few years.
He has created a skincare line called Humanrace; created a winter line with Adidas; and partnered with Ethereum's NFT project, Doodles, as chief brand officer. Then he founded a digital auction house called Joopiter; and most recently, he was named to be Louis Vuitton's creative director, succeeding his friend, Virgil Abloh, who passed away recently.

A phrase like this could be considered an understatement: This man is the one who creates the wave in the cultural sphere. While the fashion world waits impatiently for his debut at the French maison, he has already been hard at work curating luxury auction events for Joopiter in preparation for his debut.
Last October, a digital auction house was launched with the intent of being a younger, more affordable (although still quite pricey) alternative to established auction houses such as Sotheby's and Christie's. In partnership with William's longtime jeweler, Lorraine Schwartz, Joopiter's latest sale is the first to be exclusively focused on jewelry.
It is the company's first jewellery sale. Taking you on a journey through gemstones is the name of the show.

There will be a large 50-carat D Flawless Type IIa loose diamond in the auction, along with an enormous pair of diamond-shaped earrings in 18-karat white gold with natural purple sapphire, natural paraiba, and diamonds, as well as a bib necklace and matching earrings made from 18-karat white gold and Colombian emeralds. It will feature a selection of some of her most exclusive and ultra-rare stones as well as one-of-a-kind pieces that she has created over the years.

Beyoncé, Blake Lively and many other stars have worn Schwartz's creations to a variety of high-wattage events over the past few years, establishing her as the queen of the red carpet. In contrast to other big-name corporate brands, Schwartz's clients do not just pose for mannequins, they actually buy and own her jewelry instead of just using it as mannequins. Apparently, Beyoncé gave Schwartz her dog back in return for a gift from her - and she's a good friend of them too.

In this regard, Williams and Princess Diana have been longtime friends, and Williams has accumulated a number of pieces from the Princess's collection (some of which he auctioned off last October on Joopiter, including a pinky ring with a 23.7-carat sapphire). “Lorraine Schwartz taught me so much about stones and quality, the clarity and the color and making sure the stones are cut correctly so that they’re not too heavy or they’re not too wide,” Williams said according to Rich Report.
There were even a few lots which were co-designed by Williams himself, including a ring set with a 26-carat Asscher-cut canary yellow diamond of a 26-carat size. “I was lucky enough to meet Pharrell over 20 years ago, and we’ve built an incredible friendship through a mutual appreciation for the most exquisite and unique gems in the world,” Schwartz said in a statement. “To me, A Journey Through Gems is not only a curation of the finest bespoke high jewelry available now, but also the story of our journey and relationship as told through gems.”
This upcoming Joopiter auction of Williams' personal items will be available for bidding starting Friday, March 17 on Joopiter, following Williams' most recent auction of his items which brought in $5.25 million.
