It tracks your pulse-and looks great doing it with Montblanc's Limited-Edition Doctor's Watch

There is only a limited edition of 100 pieces of the Heritage Manufacture Pulsograph available in the market.
In spite of the fact that they are not technically categorized as timepieces as such, "doctor's watches" - also known as pulsographs and pulsometers - are a well-respected niche within the mechanical watchmaking world.
A doctor's watch is usually equipped with a prominent seconds dial which can be used to measure pulse rates, making them, in some ways, the ultimate tool watch, as doctors are able to check a patient's heart rate with a quick glance. Throughout the midcentury, pulsographs and pulsometers were extremely popular, especially at the boutique Swiss watch-making company Fabrique d'Horlogerie Minerva, presently owned by Montblanc. There were a number of such models produced at the Valery factory during the 1940s and 1950s. The company is based in the Jura mountains of Switzerland, in the village of Villeret.

Montblanc has been bringing back the vintage style to great acclaim in recent years. As an example, Montblanc has just unveiled the Heritage Manufacture Pulsograph Limited Edition which follows the release of its Heritage Pulsograph Limited Edition in December 2019 with a salmon-colored dial. The watch is characterized by a 40 mm rose gold case that will be available starting this June.
There is a strong indication of Montblanc's midcentury heyday when the watch features a refined tobacco-brown dial, a throwback to the midcentury heyday, with a large balance wheel, a rose gold-plated chronograph bridge whose design dates back to 1912, and an iconic hand-decorated Minerva arrow. It is accompanied by the movement's in-house monopusher chronograph movement, Calibre MB M13.21.
Domed, smoked and lacquered, this dial features a “grainé” hour ring with a sunray finish, luminous Arabic numerals and dots for indexes are coated in 18-karat rose gold-coated lumenescent dauphine hands, 18-karat rose gold-coated luminescent dauphine hands for the seconds and the chronograph indications, 18-karat rose gold baton-shaped hands for the seconds and the chronograph indications, rack minuterie, and old-school international payphones on the chronograph's minutes counter display is also decorated in rose gold. In addition to the tobacco dial, the watch is finished with a Sfumato alligator strap.
The watch, which retails for $33,000, will be available in a limited edition of 100 pieces starting in June.
