Despite the fact that the sculpture is completely made of snow and ice, Rich Report is so ready to take part in the event because it is entirely made out of ice.

Even though staying in a hotel made entirely out of ice and snow might sound like a dream or a nightmare, there's no denying that it's a unique experience, one that should not be missed.

There is even the possibility of spending a night surrounded by snow in the very same ice hotel that opened in Sweden in 1989, so you do not have to fly across the Atlantic to do so. Canada's only ice hotel, which just opened for the winter season, is the only one of its kind in all of North America, and it is right across the border.

It was unveiled for the 2023 season at the Hotel de Glace outside Quebec City, which welcomed its guests last Jan. 4. The hotel is the only one in North America that offers guests the chance to sleep on a bed made of ice, surrounded by four walls that are also made of ice and snow.

Every year, the designers and builders of the hotel come up with a theme that they will run with for the entire year - so while you can always expect to see giant snow arches, crystal-clear ice sculptures, and shimmering ice chandeliers, the hotel will change every year.

You may also find yourself surrounded by mushrooms, flowers, woodland creatures and a Japanese-style pagoda, all carved out from snow, if you book a themed room - all of which are decorated with mushrooms, flowers, and woodland creatures.

You can find Arctic sleeping bags in each of the Hôtel de Glace's rooms, and some of the rooms have fireplaces and hot tubs or saunas where you can relax before heading to sleep - the perfect way to ensure that you keep warm before dozing off. All guests of the property will also have access to the property's "Nordic relaxation area," an outdoor area with a sauna and hot tubs that are designed to make observing the stars easier.

During the whole experience, you will be welcomed with a welcome drink - served in a glass made of ice, of course - to get the party started. In addition to all of these activities, the ice theme continues with access to the nearby ice skating path, which is lit up in the evening, as well as the up to 24 slides and sledding hills located nearby. It is possible to sit in a bar that is -5 degrees Fahrenheit in the evening and sip on a cocktail while sipping on a cocktail.

In spite of our dreams of sleeping through the night in a room made of ice, every booking at the Hôtel de Glace comes with a backup plan: a room in the nearby Hôtel Valcartier, a four-star hotel with endless heat and a full on-site spa that offers an array of thermal treatments.

The Hôtel de Glace will open in phases over the next few years. In addition to the hotel's grand hall and chapel, there is also an ice bar on the terrace, a hot tub, and a sauna area. In addition, more rooms and the ice workshop have been added since January 7. Including the Grand Slide, the entire structure was completed last January 16.

There is no surcharge for booking an overnight stay at the Hôtel de Glace, and every booking includes complimentary access to the sauna and ice skating path at the Hôtel Valcartier (consider this your Plan B), as well as a welcome drink, and a complimentary room at the Hôtel Valcartier. The rates start at $400 per night and go up from there. There is also an option if you would like to visit the ice hotel for a day with a pass that starts at $25 per person.
