The artist has another chance to flex and show off his most extravagant toys in another Drake music video.

One of the most striking things in the rapper's new video is the Patek Philippe Nautilus, customized by Virgil Abloh for his new single "What's Next". Outlandish timepieces are Toronto's favorite pastimes, but this watch, which is encrusted with emeralds, takes things to the next level.

The customized watch is mentioned in the opening verse, "I got one, Virgil got one, and that's the only two," but does not appear until halfway through Drake's tour of snow-covered Toronto. As he tears through the second ferocious verse while riding the Toronto subway, you watch the watch slip out of his right sleeve several times. The jacket was also designed by Abloh, who was the artistic director for menswear at Louis Vuitton. Drake's Rolls-Royce, a Mercedes-Benz SLR Maybach, and a Rolls-Royce with Chrome Heart interior share screen time, but the watch is clearly the star.

There’s no doubt why, too. As part of Patek Philippe’s Nautilus family in 2019, Patek Philippe introduced the Ref. 5726, a highly sought-after annual calendar watch with a moonphase complication. It was designed by Abloh and brought to life by MAD Paris jewelry.

A GQ article from April 2019 describes the process of disassembling, cleaning, coating, and encrusting the watch with emeralds in a special vacuum chamber after it has been disassembled, cleaned, and coated in diamond-like carbon. Clearly, there are many stones on the watch, but we don't know how many.

Drake has previously spoken of Virgil, according to the magazine. If you couldn't tell, Future really likes this watch. He sang in the chorus and verse of the song "Life Is Good," "Virgil got a Patek on his wrist going nuts" and "Virgil got a Patek on his wrist doing front flips."
