Hermes Speedster Dayboat Pays Tribute to 1959 Porsche

Experience the power of electricity.

Seven Seas Yachts has created an electric dayboat inspired by the 1959 Porsche 356.

In addition to the sleek bodywork of the vintage racer, the dayboat features a chrome-framed, rounded windshield, a retro cockpit with leather panels and bucket seats, and a full convertible top you can deploy in seconds to keep the elements out.

Powered by a 100 kW electric motor, the Hermes Speedster can reach a top speed of 36 mph. At slower cruising speeds, the boat can run for around nine hours, completely emitting no emissions. In addition, the company states that there is no specific speed when the boat transitions to a plane: it gradually rises from the water as it speeds up, but remains almost completely horizontal throughout the entire trip.

Hermes Speedster dayboats start at $269,000.
