Glamping at the Grand Canyon Indoors a Luxurious Glass Pyramid

With its Indiegogo funding, Nomad’s Pad will offer glampers luxury amenities, activities, and a commitment to sustainability.

There’s no better way to escape the chaos than to connect with nature.

With spectacular views of the desert and the night sky, ten stunning, temperature-controlled glass pyramids will soon be built off the south rim of the Grand Canyon on a 20-acre site. A solar-powered project named Nomad’s Pad–which met its fundraising goals on Indiegogo–plans to offer guests their own 400-square-foot, luxury camping experience in a 400-square-foot glass pyramid. By utilizing smart glass technology, the structures’ clear glass walls can be opaque with just a touch of a button when privacy is required, so guests can enjoy truly unobstructed 360-degree views.

Each pyramid will feature air conditioning, a queen-sized bed, luxurious linens, a detached private bathroom, eco-friendly toiletries, complimentary tea and coffee, and is constructed using passive house principles for maximum efficiency. There is a private hot tub, propane fire pit, hammock, and lounge furniture on the private patio.

From area hubs such as Flagstaff, Phoenix, and Las Vegas, travelers will be able to reach Nomad’s Pad in one to three and a half hours; Grand Canyon National Park is a 25-minute drive away. The official name of the rural town where the currently undeveloped land sits is Grand Canyon Junction; the area is also home to Under Canvas’ Grand Canyon location, surrounded by Pinyon trees and juniper berries.

Nomad’s Pad co-founders Jenny and Victor Pegeanu are rental property veterans who have developed nature-immersed stays “with a hint of glam” throughout the Grand Canyon area, earning them plenty of five-star reviews on Airbnb and other rental sites. In addition to sip and paint classes, yoga, outdoor movies, and relaxing sound baths and massages, this new experience will also offer guests “stress-melting” activities on-site.

There will also be a food truck at Nomad’s Pad serving farm-to-table meals with locally sourced ingredients, as well as craft cocktails, beer, wine, and wine. As well as hiking, jeep tours of the landscape, boating tours and south rim airplane tours, guests will be able to book a range of activities on the grounds. You can also get online if you need to.

In order to earn priority booking privileges, interested visitors need to sign up for an Indiegogo account, and then pick a perk (the number of nights you’d like), which range in value from $579 to $1,659 per night. Once travelers have submitted their payment information, they will receive an e-mail confirmation that contains a voucher code that they can use to make their reservation at the eventual booking portal. For more information, visit the Indiegogo listing for Nomad’s Pad.
