An updated colorway and case update the classic timepiece.

Another feather has been added to the hat of one of the world's top watchmakers.

A Swiss timepiece specialist since 1888, Bucherer introduces Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph to its Blue Collection of exquisite timepieces. According to the retailer, the watches that make the collection represent the “daring pioneers” of modern horology.

As with every watch in the Blue Collection, the signature chronograph is available exclusively through Bucherer boutiques in Europe, and as with every watch in the Blue Collection, its palette takes on some aqua hues. Although it's not entirely new, the dial and strap are adorned with watery colors. Its blue Tapisserie dial conveyed a modern, sporty feel when first launched in 1972, and this is a welcome return to that style. Despite the fact that there are other Royal Oak watches with the blue waffle dial, this one is dubbed a “Mega Tapisserie” for its oversize version and its blue subdial counters, making it the only current chronograph watch with blue subdials.

With a 42 mm diameter and 14.54 mm thickness, its stainless steel case contrasts with a pink gold bezel, which was also designed specifically for the Blue Collection. The Offshore watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters and is powered by an automatic movement with a 50-hour power reserve, living up to its Offshore moniker. You can also choose from three different strap options if you're not wild about the watch's strap: blue or black rubber, black alligator, or brown leather.

As an alternative to the diamond-encrusted model with a crisp white dial and matching rubber strap, the collaboration also created a diamond-encrusted model with a crisp white dial and matching rubber strap.

Audemars Piguet offers a special-edition Royal Oak Offshore with a two-tone case for approximately $38,217. If you'd like to get one for yourself, you won't be able to find it at your local AP boutique. You'll have to contact Bucherer.
