Fine dining in Los Cabos is gaining popularity as locally sourced produce takes center stage.

Los Cabos has a reputation for excellent dining establishments and luxury resorts in addition to its gorgeous landscape and gloriously sunny climate.

Due to its location on Mexico's Baja California Peninsula's southern tip, virtually every restaurant has a sea view, which makes the seafood menus more fresh. Because of this, and because Los Cabos' restaurants have close relationships with fishermen, the cuisine is almost as close to experiencing the ocean as possible.

With romantic outdoor settings and chic interiors, Los Cabos' top five restaurants offer something for every taste.

Los Tamarindos

The restaurant, located in a 19th century farmhouse, is committed to farm-to-table cuisine. Using recipes that have been passed down through generations, head chef Enrique Silva prepares an ever-changing menu based on the crops that grow in the fields surrounding the restaurant.

Fish and meat dishes at Tamarindos are equally seasonal and fresh; the fish is caught by local fishermen every day and hand selected by the restaurant's chefs, while the chicken is grown on the restaurant's farm. As you would expect, the drinks menu also features Mexican labels, and as you would expect, the tequila menu is also impressive.

The restaurant's adjoining kitchen terrace offers cooking classes that you can attend if the restaurant's thoughtfully prepared Mexican menu isn't quite enough to satiate your appetite.

Acre has become a must-visit for culinary connoisseurs visiting Los Cabos, promising a vibrant dining experience in the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. It was the restaurant of Acre that made the resort famous, even though the property has expanded to include a treehouse hotel.

Bringing a penchant for simple but elevated flavors, Moroccan executive chef Larbi Dahrouch joined Acre in 2019. Featuring fresh seafood, nourishing salads, Italian pasta, and duck dishes, Acre's menu combines local produce with global influence, much of which is grown on their own farm.

A variety of award-winning concoctions are available on Acre's eclectic cocktail menu after dinner, serving in an effortlessly chic yet relaxed setting. In the same way that Acre's food menu celebrates local ingredients, the drinks menu offers the best of both worlds.

Comal

As one of the best restaurants in Los Cabos, Comal Restaurant is part of the luxurious Chileno Bay Resort and Residences.

Historically, Mexican cooking has relied heavily on cast-iron pans known as Comal, which are usually handed down from generation to generation. With its Latin American-inspired menu and contemporary twist, Comal keeps true to its name's origins. In addition to the main menu, guests can also enjoy the live-action Raw Bar, which offers up the freshest selection of local fish.

In addition to its romantic reputation, Comal offers seafront tables that provide a dramatic view of the Sea of Cortez that are coveted by couples.

Cocina De Autor

An author's signature cuisine is usually a menu that reflects his or her personality, and is translated into English as "signature cuisine." As a result, Cocina De Autor is Los Cabos's go-to restaurant for creative fine dining. Two Michelin-starred Sidney Schutte's playful tasting menu artfully reflects his time spent at numerous Michelin-starred restaurants all over the world, cementing its status as Los Cabos' best fine dining restaurant.

As well as celebrating local ingredients in an inventive manner, the dishes have been paired with intriguing pairings, such as chocolate and clam. Wine pairings are equally ambitious, offering an array of the region's most diverse wines.

In addition to the contemporary menu, there are striking gold details, Mexican artwork and atmospheric lighting in the restaurant.

Manta

The menu at Manta has been inspired by Mexican, Peruvian, Japanese, and more cuisines. Among the unusual flavor combinations created by chef Enrique Olvera are sweetcorn ice cream mochi, mezcal and tequila. Aside from mezcal and tequila, the beverage menu keeps diners entertained worldwide.

Typical of Los Cabos, seafood dominates the menu at Manta, and chef Olvera champions local produce, land and sea, as is customary on the peninsula.

As the flagship restaurant of The Cape, A Thompson Hotel, Manta features striking black walls contrasted with tan leather seating, while floor-to-ceiling windows offer a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside.
