The Alexander Construction Company, which was founded in Palm Springs in 1955, constructed more than 2,200 houses in the Coachella Valley between 1955 and 1965, effectively doubling the area of Palm Springs and contributing to the town's status as a center of midcentury modern architecture. As a consequence of their style and innovative constructions, these original houses are now referred to as "Alexanders," and are valued at premium prices due to their highly sought after status.

Each of those homes would cost approximately $19,500. With time, the company started building larger, more expensive houses, typically ranging in size between 2,000 square feet and about 2,500 square feet, at a price per square foot of around $50,000.

The area was known for being a weekend getaway destination for Hollywood stars looking for a getaway during the weekend. There are many famous people who owned Alexander watches, such as Dinah Shore, Dean Martin, Joan Collins, Marilyn Monroe, and Harold Robbins.

This earlier Alexander is a petite 1,278 square feet, set on 0.23 of an acre. There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a backyard with pool and spa just aching for an epic party. The property is asking $1.15 million and is listed by Paul Linger at Compass.
