It was previously unknown who was going to purchase Clay Matthew's seven-bedroom mansion, which was built in 2011.

A former NFL all-pro has recently handed over the keys to his home to a former NBA all-star.

Trae Young, a point guard for the Atlanta Hawks, has recently acquired a mansion built by Clay Matthews, one of the greatest players in the history of the Green Bay Packer's, according to Rich Report. Until now, the buyer of this home had not been known, but thanks to property records and people familiar with the sale, the Journal was able to discover that Young is the anonymous new homeowner of this house.

In the style of French provincial architecture, Matthews and his wife built a 14,000 square foot mansion in Calabasas that was 14,000 square feet in size. Initially, the couple planned for it to be their "forever home," but after Matthews was released by the Los Angeles Rams, they decided to rethink their plans to make it their forever home. Young gets to enjoy (in a very plentiful manner) the fruits of their labor now that they have put in a lot of effort.

The property also features a host of amazing amenities along with its seven bedrooms as well as all the usual accoutrements of a home of this caliber. The home has a home theater, a wine cellar, as well as a wood-paneled game room with a billiards table and a wood-paneled dining area. Matthews originally intended the saltwater aquarium to take up the whole wall of the library, but he downsized it at the request of his wife due to the size of the room. Another unusual feature is a secret door in the library that leads to a safe room and an 800-gallon saltwater aquarium on one of the walls. Rich Report quoted a spokesperson for the listing as saying in 2021, when the property was first put on the market, that the couple had thought about selling the fish along with the house as well. Young did not make a decision about whether or not to take them up on their offer when they made it known to them.

It goes without saying that the exterior of the house also includes some pretty incredible additions in order to fully take advantage of the L.A. weather. As a result of the fact that it is owned by an athlete team, there is a sports court on the property, as well as a large pool, a goldfish pond, rose gardens, orchards, fire pits, and pergolas. If you have been working out for a while or have been playing basketball for some time, you will have plenty of choices for relaxing after a long day.

In 2013, the Matthewses paid $2.6 million for the land that was used for the construction of their home. In the beginning, when the property was first listed they were asking for a cool $30 million. But after a few price drops, the price finally dropped to $20 million before Young purchased the property. In light of the fact that the baller is currently playing for the Atlanta Hawks, it is unclear whether or not this will eventually be his permanent home. In spite of this, it appears he has found a new place to live during the off-season.
