A New Hotel in a Small Southern California Town Offers a Cozy Bar, a Vine-Covered Courtyard and an Attic Suite

The Richland has a combination of a contemporary design and classic Southern California architecture that makes it an ideal retreat for those seeking relaxation and glamour.
This intimate, residential-style hotel in Orange County is one of the newest boutique properties on the market. It is designed to cater to travelers seeking tranquility and privacy in their time away from the world. There is now an open-air hotel within walking distance of the world-famous Orange, California, which opened in February..
This hotel is located within one square mile of Orange's historic downtown district, ten minutes by foot from the city's main square, which is one of the town's most famous landmarks. It consists of two early 1900s buildings that are attached to each other, with modern-day accommodations and a lot of attention been paid to every aspect of the property.

It is also noteworthy that even the hotel's name pays homage to the city's roots: Richland was the original name of the city before it changed to Orange in 1873, following the city's growth and development.
An olive tree, a water fountain, and a covered porch surround the hotel's main entrance courtyard, which is covered in jasmine vines and topped with pergolas covered in jasmine vines. The hotel has a comfortable communal bar and lounge area, which features dark wood paneled walls, comfortable leather sofas, a fireplace, as well as accents in yellow and green.

In the hotel's bar, guests can enjoy handcrafted cocktails and local brews while toasting to their stay, which is decorated with custom-made stools, citrus grove wallpaper (a nod to the city's name) and vintage decor from local antique stores. The city of Orange is known as the "antique capital of California," with more than 40 antique stores to browse through.

There are 12 guest rooms in the hotel, each with its own color scheme and coziness. Handwoven rugs and vibrant wallpaper bring a sense of personality to the rooms, while mustard yellow accents add an element of character to the lighting fixtures as well as the artwork. As with the rest of the house, the bathrooms are equally eclectic with bold hues and patterns on the tiles.
In the main house there is an attic suite in the attic that has sloped ceilings and panoramic windows overlooking the street, making it one of the most unique accommodations in the area.

Guests looking for more of a private retreat are advised to book the two-bedroom cottage, which is charmingly decorated with California-chic details, and is filled with natural light. The cottage can accommodate up to five guests and is equipped with a full kitchen and dining area so you can prepare your own meals.

According to Rich Report, a special event can be celebrated at the hotel in a very special way, no matter how big or small it may be. We have a spacious indoor bar and lounge area as well as an outdoor courtyard where you are able to host smaller gatherings. You can also reserve the ballroom for larger events, which is equipped with exposed wood beams ceilings and more than a dozen chandeliers, and can accommodate up to 150 guests for receptions or other events.
It is possible to book a room at The Richmond for as little as $300 per night. Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed with a complimentary seasonal non-alcoholic welcome drink and a continental breakfast is included in the price.
