A chic Coldwater Canyon home has been listed by Hollywood producer Lee Daniels
In the mountains above Beverly Hills, deep within Coldwater Canyon, Lee Daniels purchased a West Coast outpost located on a secluded cul-de-sac over four years ago. He has put the property he shares with longtime partner and stylist Jahil Fisher back on the market after being nominated for an Oscar for "Monster's Ball," "Precious" and "Empire." It's asking nearly $2.4 million more than Daniels paid back in July for the boxy modern house.
A major redesign of the place took place in 2017, after it was originally built in the early 1950s. His friend, Roxy Sowlaty, also helped Daniels customize the premises upon moving in, according to a 2019 Architectural Digest article. There are exact replicas of pieces in his Manhattan apartment, including the piano Mariah Carey and Lenny Kravitz play when visiting, as well as artwork by Kehinde Wiley, an Obama portraitist, and Harouni, an artist based in New Orleans.
With an attached two-car garage and spacious motorcourt, this striking metal-sided home is situated on a wooded parcel spanning almost an acre. The house features four bedrooms and five baths in charcoal, white, and ebony colors with heated slate floors, wood-paneled walls, and large expanses of glass throughout.
