When the pandemic lockdown began in 2020, construction on FB283 began.

 It was during the pandemic lockdowns in 2020 that Benetti Yachts began construction on the 203-foot FB283.

Giorgio Cassetta designed the exteriors and interiors of the FB283. Van Oossanen Naval Architects designed the hull lines. Nicola Nicolai of Nicolai Yacht Consulting & Project Management managed the project.

Benetti built the yacht with a fast-displacement hull form, with a projected top speed of 21 knots. The brief called for speed, silence, long range and "guaranteed family fun."

The garage has a side door through which you can load and unload a 33-foot tender, a personal watercraft, and a smaller tender. A touch-and-go helipad is also on board.

In order to communicate with the owner of this yacht during the pandemic lockdown, Benetti used 3D technology and video calls to communicate with him during the design phase of this yacht.
